Regular flights are available from Cairns(CNS) to Dunk Island (DKI) reservations can be made through Hideaway Resorts on tel: 07 40474740. This is a scenic 40 minute flight.
The flights depart Cairns at 1215 & 1430 and return at 0945 & 1315. Cost is $115 adults and $57.50 for children one-way.
Baggage Allowance - Passengers may be restricted
to one suitcase and one small carry-on item of hand luggage. A limit of 23kg
per person applies (subject to loading restrictions).
On arrival at dunk Island you will be greeted by the friendly staff with a fruit cocktail then shown to the VIP lounge while your luggage is being placed into your transfer coach. You are then transferred with a scenic tour through Dunk Island village to your private boat charter This is a scenic 15 minute boat charter which will take you to your private paradise.
Skytrans or Dunk Island Connections is our preferred charter carrier and offers a range of charter options from Cairns. Helicopter-Sunlover helicopter bookings on special request.
Another option is : from the Cairns airport with Sugarland Car rental phone 07 4052 1300 for reservations, then a scenic 2hours drive south of Cairns to the coastal town of Mission Beach. From here it is a short water taxi to Dunk Island to meet your private boat charter.
About Bedarra
In 1770 Captain James Cook discovered "The Family Group of Islands." The largest of them all he named "The Father Isle" and titled it Dunk Island, the 2nd largest island he named " The Mother Isle" now Bedarra and the smaller islands where the children, Timana Island the baby, the Twins and the triplets.
In the mid 1940's famous Australian artist Noel Wood settled and lived on East Bedarra Island.
East Bedarra Retreat now features 2 private eco-living sanctuaries The Beach Bungalow which have both been lovingly restored maintaining both to their original charm.
